Master Plan Schleswig-Holstein
In the year 1963, trigged by the disaster flood of 1962 at the west coast, the Schleswig-Holstein coastal protection plan was set up for the first time. The national dyke protection was specified up to the year 2000, determining the heights. In the Master Plan of 2001 the coastal protection as well as the development targets derived from it are introduced. Subsequently, the redefined coastal protection planning area in its natural-space characteristics, as a habitat of humans is described. The national dyke protection is the most important instrument for coastal protection in Schleswig-Holstein. Also the expected expenditures as well as the change in social basic conditions are described. The coastal protection plan ends with a view into the future.
