Long term vision Western Scheldt
In January 1999 the Technical Schelde Commission asked the Dutch Ministry of Works (Direction Zeeland) and the Flemish Administration for Marine Water ways to elaborated a vision (on the long term) for Schelde-estuarium. On 18 January 2001 the technical schelde Commission the Vision was presented to the ministers concerned in Flanders and the Netherlands. For the first time a Dutch-Flamish vision for the Schelde - Estuary was available. In the vision - which reaches up to 2030 - three functions play a key role: security, accessibility and nature. The vision is als taken into account the interaction between these functions.
