Zonation Act
The possibility for regulation of building activities in the coastal landscapes was strengthened considerably by the zonation act of 1969 which stated that new buildings were no longer allowed in the rural zone, unless they had to do with agriculture or forestry.
Over the years the state has acquired considerable natural areas and areas for recreation along the coast.
