Master Plan Lower Saxony Bremen
In this plan the necessary measures for coastal protection of Lower Saxony and Bremen are described. The plan has its origin in the coastal protection program and started in 1955 in reaction to the North Sea storm surge of 1953.
In the Master Plan of 2007 also dyke heights are determined. After 1973, they must again be increased to the necessary target height and likewise strengthened due to large setting and sagging or new realizations. Also the recent study of the IPCC and the expecting effects of global warming upon the change of sea level rise and the storm tide frequency are considered in this plan.
